The Hyundai getz, gets our thumbs up !
The Hyundai Getz is one of Hyundai's most popular models and it's easy to see why. Cheap to run, spacious inside and a five-year warranty as standard make it a good choice if you're looking for an affordable and easy to drive car. There are few thrills to be had though and it's not especially comfortable either, with a cheap and dated interior plus a bouncy ride. The dull looks do little to help raise the temperature but at least there's good passenger space, particularly in the back where it is impressively roomy for such a small car. There's also a good choice of engines including the CRTD diesel which is cheap to tax and returns 63mpg.
It was originally launched with a 62bhp 1.1-litre engine, a 1.3-litre with 82bhp and a 1.6-litre 16v with 105bhp. The base model is only really ideal if you intend to stick to short journeys around town and takes a leisurely 15.7 seconds to get from 0-62mph. The 1.3-litre is the better choice and returns an impressive 46mpg, while the 1.6-litre feels the most accomplished on the motorway and has decent in-gear power. In January 2004 the 1.5-litre CRTD was introduced - and with strong pulling power plus excellent fuel economy it's a good choice if you intend to cover high mileages -although most buyers will find the petrols frugal enough.
The Hyundai Getz range was face lifted in 2005 and a new 1.4-litre petrol engine was introduced while the 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre units were dropped. The 1.4-litre uses variable valve timing to deliver 67bhp and manages 0-62mph in a sprightly 11.2 seconds while returning 47mpg. The diesel engine was replaced by a new unit. It's still badged CRTD but comes in two outputs of either 88bhp or 110bhp - both of which return more than 60mpg and are cheaper to tax than the previous diesel. It also gets a new five-speed manual gearbox and is far more refined and eager.
The Hyundai Getz is agile and easy to drive - making it ideal for pottering town - but the light steering isn't especially responsive and at higher speeds the Hyundai lacks refinement. It's vague when pushed through quick corners and there's too much body roll. The ride is soft, which is ideal for motorway driving, but does become bouncy over undulating or bumpy roads. On the plus side, parking is easy, as the power steering and neat ten-metre turning circle make light work of low-speed maneuvers.
With a fresh new Euro-chic styling, thoughtfully designed interiors and a refined diesel engine, the all new Hyundai Getz gives you a global driving experience. The first sight itself will give the impression of a perfect mid-size car and the performance will underline your verdicts. The prominent full width Detachable Bumper Insert Moldings add to the sportiness, prevent external scratches and are easy to replace. Stylish elongated headlamp in harmony with the hood lines ensure optimum brightness and visibility. Refined and redesigned single horizontal slat Grille comes with a prominent 'H' logo and chrome insert.
The round bumper inserted fog lamps assist not only in better visibility especially during inclement weather but also accentuate a sporty look. Clear rear combination lamps offer fresh look and improved visibility while their contour has been designed to harmoniously integrate with the tailgate.
Getz is equipped with a tilt steering which ensures easy maneuvering with optimal effort and a comfortable driving position as per convenience. Backrest angle can be set to one's comfort level. It is very useful during long drives. The Hyundai Getz Prime is the only car in the segment to offer reclining rear seat backrest. Effective heating, Air-conditioning and Ventilation of Getz Prime ensures year around driving comfort. Getz is the only car in it's segment to offer Double folding 60: 40 Split RR seat Backrest As standard fitments.
The interior beige and brownish/black finish was looking very good and was giving a classy feel. The front seats were pretty comfortable and offered good overall support, not too soft or too hard. The other change I notice is that the steering wheel is nice and small.
please be patient
