Enjoy The Luxuries A Used SUV Offers

SUVs have become one of the leading favourite class vehicles over the years and there's no need to guess why. They have gained a huge following with families and singletons alike, with owner ages ranging from the late 20s to 60s. Perfect for daily commutes when you need to drop kids off at school, or do lift club, or even taking the dogs to the beach or going for a big shopping run, SUVs are versatile enough to make your everyday life much better. They aren't exactly the cheapest class of vehicles, however, but fortunately finding a used SUV for sale isn't a problem and won't break the bank as much as buying a new one. Here are a few reasons to choose a used SUV for your next vehicle.

It Doubles Up As A Great Transportation Vehicle

If you're ever moving house or have just bought a big item at the store, you will be thankful to drive an SUV. Thanks to the modular seating most modern SUVs offer, you should be able to collapse and even shift seats to make space for larger items - perfect to fit that new coffee table or flatscreen TV in with ease. While it's not exactly a bakkie, an SUV is well equipped to handle heavy loads and can be very useful when you need to move or help someone move house. You could even operate a delivery business quite effectively with an SUV as a means of product transportation.

Ample Space And Legroom

Designed with the very goal of ensuring ample spaciousness, SUVs offer more than enough horizontal space as well as legroom and vertical space for tall people to comfortably sit without banging their heads. You won't need to worry about an uncomfortable ride if you're hitting the long road for holidays away and there's enough space for someone to lie down and take a nap if they need to.

You'll Have Improved Safety

If you've ever owned a small car, you're probably familiar with how easily you seem to be overlooked or simply pushed off the road by bigger vehicles. Driving an SUV will undoubtedly get you noticed, not just for its design but also due to its sheer size. This tends to help ensure a safer driving experience as most drivers will be cautious around a larger car like an SUV and avoid taking chances to overtake it or push it out of its lane. That aside, most SUVs on the market are a lot safer to drive as they perform better in accident and collision tests. While not all are world-rated in safety like the Volvo models, most are designed and built to provide the best experience for their drivers and owners. You'll also be driving from an elevated position, which will provide you with enhanced visibility.

Modern Features

SUVs tend to be at the forefront of new technological innovations. That means that features such as touchscreen interactive consoles, voice control, wifi, driver mode settings, upgraded air conditioning systems and steering wheel control buttons are fairly standard, instead of being optional like it is with smaller vehicles. A used SUV offers you a very comfortable and cool drive and leaves very little lacking in terms of innovation.

Strong Enough To Tow And Built To Handle Tough Terrain

SUVs are built on similar principles as double-cab bakkies in that they can handle carrying heavy loads, so attaching a trailer and driving off won't be a problem. Many of them also feature 4x4 functionality, which makes them perfect for people who enjoy exploring dirt trails and enjoying the beautiful natural routes in our country. Whatever you throw at it, an SUV will handle better than most cars.

Safer In Bad Weather

Come rain or storm, an SUV will offer you much more stability and traction than other vehicles and you'll have far less risk of damaging your SUV if you have to hit rough terrain or face flooding from a torrential downpour. Because the vehicle is elevated further above the ground, you'll also have less worry about it getting stuck somewhere.

Resale Value Is Steady

Many cars rapidly lose their resale value as time passes but with SUVs, as with bakkies, you'll retain a good resale value for many years. Looking at used SUVs, you'll find that even those that are more than 10 years old still get a decent price - something you're not likely to find with sedans and other smaller vehicles.

Built To Last

With SUVs becoming so popular for city dwellers who rarely leave tarred roads, it's easy to forget that these vehicles were originally built with the goal of handling a lot of punishment and a variety of climatic and environmental obstacles. Because of this, you'll get a very long lifespan out of an SUV and, aside from the kilometres building up, you will have a reliable vehicle for as long as you choose to keep it.

On-road Elegance With The Pre-owned Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan

On-road Elegance With The Pre-owned Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan

Sophisticated design with a touch of modernity does not have to come at a steep price. Automotive excellence is no longer only a European standard, with many Asian car manufacturers going above and beyond with their offerings.

Take Hyundai, South Korea’s leading car maker, which stands out with its low-cost, economical buys. Renowned for their sleek design and plush interiors, they offer an elevated driving experience.

That said, when browsing through our curated collection of Hyundai pre-owned models, the Grand i10 Sedan may pique your interest. In the realm of automotive elegance, the pre-owned Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan stands out as a beacon of sophistication and comfort without the high price tag. Renowned for its sleek design and plush interiors, this sedan offers a driving experience that seamlessly blends style with functionality.

Redefined Aesthetics

The range carries two options for consumers to consider, both fitted with a 1.2L petrol engine and either a manual or automated transmission gearbox. The 4-cylinder engines reach max speeds of 167 km/h on manual and a 5.9 L/100 km fuel economy rate in the automated mode.

Graceful Design

Repurposed as the Grand i10 Sedan from the Aura variant in India, this car has much to boast. Starting with its design, while compact, it certainly has a contemporary feel and look. Fine lines and a robust grille are added touches to the exterior. It is a head-turner in the concrete jungle in our books.

Understated Luxury

Hyundai is not often associated with luxury exclusivity, but we can’t help but admire the interiors of the Grand i10 sedan on this one. Meticulous craftsmanship dots the cabin, from exceptional stitching to futuristic embellishments on the front dashboard. Although the cabin lacks shiny finishes, it is not cheapened in any way, which is appealing to consumers looking for practical elegance.

Hyundai is pushing towards more four-door sedan variations. Their last well-received effort was the iconic Elantra, which has sadly been discontinued. But the Grand i10 Sedan is more than a worthy replacement, in our opinion.

Book your test drive in one of our high-end Hyundai pre-owned models, from the Grand i10 Sedan to the Venue. Experience commitment, quality, and reliability you can trust with Motus Select.

Renault are one of the pioneers of electric vehicles in Europe and they are now using their expertise in motor design, battery energy efficiency and energy recuperation and adding hybrid and rechargeable hybrid engines in order to increase accessibility to a broader consumer base.

The roll out saw Renault develop E-Tech powertrains, which are hybrid and rechargeable hybrid drivetrains for popular models such as the Clio, Captur and Megane.

E-Tech combines a traditional combustion engine with two electric motors, one for traction and the second in the form of a starter alternator. This allows the driver to enjoy 100% electric mode for up to 65km in a rechargeable hybrid E-Tech model. The electric drive, multi-mode gearbox, regenerative braking and large battery capacity all contribute to significant energy economy compared to combustion powered vehicles and result in around 40% less consumption on an urban cycle for a hybrid E-Tech model.
